Every day, more than 3,130,000 terabytes are uploaded, shared, and stored in the cloud. From photos we take with our phones to business reports and classified information.
In fact, the cloud is part of our daily lives without us often realizing it, and of course, the internet plays a key role in this topic.
In the 2000s, the internet was considered an optional tool in the business environment; today, it is essential for any organization that wants to remain competitive.
Similarly, the transition to a cloud system is now an almost inevitable need for businesses seeking efficiency, security, and sustained growth.
According to the Cloud Computing Study 2023 report, over the last 12 months, 57% of organizations accelerated their cloud migration.
Also, in its 2020 report, it mentioned that at least 92% of companies have some of their IT environments in the cloud.
But…
What is a cloud system and how can it benefit your business?
A cloud system, or cloud ERP, is enterprise resource planning and management software that allows you to access your business information from anywhere and from any device.
This means you do not need local physical infrastructure or specific hardware to access the system, since all the information your company manages is hosted in the cloud.
The constant availability of information when it is needed ensures that your company can respond quickly to market opportunities and challenges.
Another important point is that updates, improvements, and new implementations of cloud software are carried out by the service provider, so you do not need to hire IT professionals for your company.
Differences between cloud systems and on-premise applications or systems
The main difference is related to where the system and information are hosted.
On-premise applications or systems are usually installed and run on the company’s local servers, which requires a significant investment in infrastructure and maintenance.
Cloud systems, on the other hand, are hosted on remote servers managed by companies that provide this type of service, such as Oracle Cloud.
These systems help reduce costs, since maintenance and update expenses are covered by the provider.
Another point is scalability.
Cloud systems allow new technologies and features to be incorporated efficiently; while doing this with an on-premise system is extremely expensive, usually requiring hardware replacement, and very slow.
In terms of accessibility, the application can only be used on company equipment, while cloud software allows you to access the data you need from anywhere and from any device.
Why migrate your applications to the cloud system?
Here are seven reasons:
- All the tools you need to manage your business in one place
We are talking about a single platform that brings together the features your business needs.
Inventiva’s ERP software, for example, has more than 100 modules designed to meet the requirements of Paraguayan companies and can adapt to more than 35 industries.
In addition, it is a scalable system, which is crucial for the growth of your business.
- Although you will need to make an investment, costs will be reduced
Cloud systems eliminate the need for physical infrastructure, reducing update and maintenance costs. This allows you to allocate these resources to other strategic areas of your business.
This frees you from having to buy new hardware every time the application has an update, since cloud ERP operates under a pay-per-use model.
- You will be paying for software that updates automatically
You will not have to worry about including update and maintenance expenses for your IT system, since your cloud software providers will take care of it.
And this, in addition to saving you money, ensures that you have access to the latest versions and improvements without having to interrupt your operations.
- Your company will stay up to date with new technologies
By being in the cloud, it is easier to access and implement advanced technologies such as artificial intelligence, business intelligence, and data analytics.
The same applies to new features. One example is electronic invoicing, which we have successfully incorporated into the software of clients who manage their businesses with Inventiva solutions.
- You will have a tool that simplifies tasks, optimizes processes, and helps save time
Having a modern, up-to-date system that actually works and is also adapted to Paraguayan regulations and to what your organization needs will help optimize the performance of every area of your business for several reasons:
- Each department or area of your company will have access to modules designed to improve its operations and performance.
- Access to information becomes easy and fast, contributing to better decision-making and smoother collaboration between teams.
- You will have a tool that makes everyone’s work easier instead of complicating it, which is what happens with obsolete systems.
- Files and information will be managed better, helping reduce common data management problems and human errors.
- By improving operations, your organization’s ability to meet its goals and remain competitive in the market will also improve.
And, if we are talking about Inventiva’s cloud management system…
- You will have a modern sales CRM available
It will help you increase sales and improve your relationship with your customers.
Inventiva’s CRM is the tool you need to analyze customer data, identify behaviors, optimize the sales process, and personalize your strategies.
- The security of cloud systems is quite robust
Inventiva’s ERP systems offer high security because they are protected by the world’s number one technology: Oracle.
This means we offer the highest levels of security, data encryption, automatic backups, and advanced protection measures against cyber threats.

How to choose a good cloud ERP system?
As we mentioned before, a good ERP system must be scalable, secure, easy to use, and customizable. However, it must also facilitate the incorporation of new technologies, offer good support, and include specific features for your sector and region.
It is not worth buying software with lots of features that are not useful for your business model.
On the other hand, we also do not recommend choosing a foreign provider. Basically because differences in time zone, culture, and language often make communication with support more difficult. This, instead of offering solutions, creates new problems.
